Nia's phone recording matched the surveillance footage perfectly. Brett's signed confession confirmed the planned harassment. Marcus' competition records proved Aaliyah's defensive training and restraint philosophy. The buried complaints revealed Grayson's pattern of targeting scholarship students. Every piece of evidence supports the same conclusion.
Dr. Hoffman announced, "Miss Brooks acted in lawful self-defense against a coordinated attack. She closed her file and looked directly at Patterson. I'm recommending immediate dismissal of all charges against Miss Brooks and formal disciplinary action against Mr. Vale and his associates." Patterson shifted uncomfortably. Perhaps we should review this privately before No. Aaliyah spoke for the first time since entering the room.
Her voice was calm but absolutely firm. I want a public. The disciplinary chamber buzzed with nervous energy as people filled every available seat. Aaliyah walked through the center aisle, her steps steady and measured. Students whispered as she passed.
Faculty members leaned forward in their chairs. Trustees sat in the front row with serious expressions. Local reporters held cameras and notebooks ready. This was not a quiet internal hearing anymore. Aaliyah took her seat at the respondent's table.
Marcus sat beside her, calm and prepared. Nia filled the chair directly behind them, her phone recording everything openly now that secrecy no longer mattered. The large screen at the front of the room displayed the university seal. Soon it would show the truth. Across the chamber, Grayson entered with Cody and Tessa flanking him.
His usual arrogant swagger seemed forced today. Dark circles under his eyes suggested sleepless nights, but his chin remained lifted defiantly. He scanned the packed room and smiled coldly when he spotted the reporters. Look at all these people," he said loudly enough for nearby seats to hear. "Guess they want to see what happens when you mess with the wrong family." Cody shifted uncomfortably.
Tessa stared at her hands. Neither responded to their leader bravado. Dr. Hoffman called the hearing to order. This emergency disciplinary review will examine allegations of assault, false reporting, and witness intimidation involving multiple students. She gestured toward the large screen.
We'll begin with surveillance footage from the academic building where the initial incident occurred. The room fell silent as the video began playing. Every detail was visible in crisp resolution. Grayson approaching Aaliyah from the front while his three friends surrounded her from other directions, his finger jabbing toward her face as he spoke, her calm posture as she attempted to continue walking. You can see Miss Brooks trying to leave the area.
Dr. Hoffman narrated, "Mr. Vale blocks her path deliberately." The footage continued, "Brett reaching for Aaliyah's backpack, Cody grabbing her wrist, Tessa shoving her shoulder. The coordinated attack was undeniable. Grayson's jaw tightened as he watched himself on screen. Several students in the audience shook their heads in disgust. Then came Aaliyah's defensive response.
Swift, controlled, effective. Each movement designed to neutralize the attack without causing unnecessary harm. Brett hitting the ground and choosing not to continue. Cody stumbling after his own momentum was redirected against him. Tessa freezing when she realized their plan had failed.
