Merrick held it up. "The menu information, mostly. Ingredients, serving notes, dietary warnings. Sometimes a link to submit service feedback."

"Does it identify the particular tray?"

"Not on the public page, usually."

"Can we check?"

Merrick considered it, then handed him the card after Orla photographed the front and back for the incident record. Zire scanned the code with his phone. The page opened quickly, displaying the salmon meal with a photograph much like the one on his family's pre-order form. Beneath the description was a small button inviting feedback about the premium dining experience.

Zire tapped it. A message appeared instead of a fresh form: Feedback already submitted. He stared at the screen, unsure whether the message referred to his individual tray or to a general review on the airline website. His grandfather had always warned that digital forms could make ordinary language sound more definite than it really was.

"There's a review already attached," he said. "It gives a time."

"What time?" Merrick asked.

"8:51."

Bria's shoulders rose slightly. Lenora sat up straighter, her phone hidden beneath her leg. Eight fifty-one was six minutes before general boarding began. Zire had not even returned to his seat with Helena at that point. Yet somebody had submitted a review of the meal he was supposed to receive later in the day.

"Could that review be for this menu generally?" Zire asked.

Orla checked the card against her handoff list. "The page recognizes a unique order reference. Some of our special-service cards carry an individual feedback link so we can connect a review to the exact delivery."

"Then someone reviewed my delivery before I got on the plane."

"It appears so."

Lenora laughed softly. "A lot of people order salmon. It could belong to someone else."

Orla turned the card over. "Not with this reference."
