Thomas had clearly been running. His breathing was heavy, and his expression shifted to alarm the moment he saw Eleanor standing between two security guards. He stopped abruptly, then hurried forward.

"Mrs. Johnson, I am terribly sorry," he said. "I never expected this to happen."

Anthony's face had gone pale. "Eleanor, are you all right? I am so sorry. This is entirely our fault."

The entire lobby seemed to change in one second. The whispers stopped. Guests who had been watching with suspicion now stared in stunned silence as two of the highest-ranking executives in the company addressed the modestly dressed woman with unmistakable respect.

Jessica froze behind the desk. Her hand rose instinctively toward her mouth as every cold word she had spoken came rushing back. Michael stood motionless, the color draining from his face as beads of sweat formed along his forehead.

"Mr. Reed, Mr. Price," Michael stammered. "I had no idea this was really Mrs. Johnson."

Thomas raised a hand and silenced him. His voice was low and stern. "Mr. Harris, do you know who you are standing in front of? This is Mrs. Eleanor Johnson, founder of the Grand American Hotel and the Johnson Luxury Hotels corporation."

Anthony turned toward Jessica. "Miss Carter, why didn't you verify the reservation or contact senior management before deciding she was not who she said she was?"

Jessica could not answer. The two security officers stepped back immediately, suddenly embarrassed by their position beside Eleanor. Around them, the guests' expressions shifted from suspicion to respect, and in several cases to visible shame.

Eleanor remained calm. She lifted one hand slightly, signaling Thomas and Anthony to stop before anger took over the moment.

"I don't need apologies or explanations right now," she said. Her voice was soft, but the entire lobby fell silent to hear it. "I only hope this will be the last time something like this happens in one of my hotels."

"Yes, Mrs. Johnson," Thomas and Anthony replied almost together.

Eleanor looked once toward Jessica and Michael. There was no triumph in her face and no desire to humiliate them. Her expression was thoughtful, almost sad, and somehow that was more difficult for them to endure than anger would have been.

Thomas turned to them. "Mr. Harris, Miss Carter, prepare Mrs. Johnson's VIP room immediately. I want everything handled personally and correctly."

Michael lowered his head. "Yes, sir. Right away."
