Darius spread out report summaries. "March: called on a Black delivery driver, claimed he was casing houses. False. April: reported a Hispanic contractor as suspicious, demanded officers verify his work permits. Legal contractor.

May: called about children playing basketball in the park, claimed they were intimidating residents. They were elementary-school kids."

Martinez studied the pattern. "Every call targets minorities. Every description exaggerates normal behavior into criminal activity."

"And every time officers responded like her word was gospel because she donated to the Police Foundation."

Crawford closed his laptop. "This isn't just about your driveway. This is about a system that let wealth purchase preferential treatment."

"Which is exactly why the driveway confrontation happened," Darius said. "Lenora expected officers to arrest me based on her word alone. She'd been conditioning them to do exactly that for years."

Martinez gathered the evidence files. "The registration confirms the Rolls-Royce belongs to you. The garage footage proves no break-in occurred. The 911 recording proves she fabricated witnessing forced entry. The body cameras prove she demanded arrest without evidence. Her editing proves she manipulated evidence to support false claims."

"And the donor records prove she purchased special treatment that enabled all of it," Crawford added.

Darius closed the evidence file and stood. Everything that mattered was documented, preserved, and irrefutable. Lenora's own accusations had created the paper trail that would expose her entire system of privilege and false reporting.

At city hall, she would finally face the consequences of treating police like her personal security service. The truth had been waiting patiently for this moment.

The city hall hearing room buzzed with tension as Darius pushed through the heavy wooden doors. Every seat was filled. Reporters lined the back wall, cameras ready. Oversight committee members shuffled through thick folders at the front table.

Gordon Hail sat in the first row, his polished suit and practiced smile already working the room. Lenora Vale occupied the witness chair like a queen holding court. She wore a navy dress with pearl earrings, her silver hair perfectly styled. Her lawyer whispered last-minute instructions as she nodded gravely.

Mercer sat near the middle, constantly checking his phone. His uniform looked freshly pressed, but sweat beaded on his forehead despite the air conditioning. Ruiz sat two rows behind him, calm and still.

"Chief Holloway," Committee Chair Patricia Santos called out. "Please take your designated seat."

Darius walked down the center aisle. Every eye followed him. Whispered conversations died as he passed. He had worn his dress uniform, crisp, formal, commanding. The badge on his chest caught the overhead lights.

Santos called the room to silence. "This emergency hearing will determine whether Chief Holloway abused his authority during a neighborhood incident six days ago. Mrs. Vale, you may begin your statement."

Lenora leaned toward the microphone. Her voice trembled slightly, a careful performance of victimization.

"I was simply being a responsible neighbor. I saw someone tampering with an expensive car parked at a house that had been empty for months. The activity looked suspicious. I called 911 because I feared a crime was occurring and the homeowner might be in danger."

She paused for effect, dabbing her eyes with a tissue.

"When officers arrived, this man became hostile. He refused to cooperate. Then he flashed his badge like a weapon and said I needed to understand what I'd done. He was intimidating me because I dared to question him. A law-abiding citizen shouldn't be threatened for calling police in good faith."

Gordon nodded supportively from the front row. Several committee members scribbled notes. Reporters captured every word.

Santos turned to the investigators. "Please present your findings."

Lead Investigator James Crawford stood. "We'll start with the original 911 call that initiated this incident."

He activated the audio system. Lenora's voice filled the room, crystal clear.

"I need officers to respond immediately. There's a suspicious man who broke into an expensive car in my neighborhood. I watched him force his way inside. The homeowner might be hurt."

The room went dead silent. Several committee members looked up sharply from their notes.
