Guilty on every single one.

Dalton's face went white then red. He stood slamming his hands on the table. This is a travesty. This jury was intimidated. Sit down, Mr.

Dalton. Judge Martinez said coldly. Sentencing is set for 4 weeks from today. Defendant remanded without bail. Court is adjourned.

As they dragged Dalton out of the courtroom, he twisted to look back at Caleb. You're dead, kid. You hear me? You're dead. Wrath stepped in front of Caleb blocking Dalton's view.

Keep walking, Sheriff. You got nothing to say that matters anymore.

Outside the courthouse, the Hells Angels erupted in celebration. Reporters swarmed again, but this time Caleb didn't hide from them. How do you feel about the verdict? one shouted. I feel like justice was served. Caleb said.

A guilty man is going to prison. That's how it should be. Were you afraid to testify? Terrified, but some things are more important than fear. What's next for you?

Caleb looked at Arthur, at Tiny, at Clutch, Wrath, and all the others who'd become his family. I'm going back to work, building bikes, living my life. That's what matters now.

That night the celebration at the clubhouse was massive. Every charter in Arizona showed up, plus some from Nevada and California. Music, food, enough alcohol to float a boat. Caleb found himself passed from hug to hug, congratulated until his ears rang. Speech!

Someone shouted. Speech, speech! Clutch handed Caleb a beer and gestured for quiet. Kid's got something to say. Caleb stood on a chair feeling ridiculous and overwhelmed and grateful all at once.

I don't really know what to say, except thank you. A month ago, I was nobody, just a kid fixing cars in the middle of nowhere. Then I made one choice to stop and help someone, and that choice changed everything. He looked around at the faces watching him. You guys didn't have to protect me, didn't have to give me a job or a home or become my family, but you did, and I'll spend the rest of my life trying to be worthy of that.

You already are, kid, Tiny called out. You saved Arthur's life, Clutch added. You stood up when everyone else would have walked away. That's all the worthy we need. Well, I'm grateful anyway, to all of you.

You showed me what family really means. Not blood, though Uncle Vernon tried, but showing up when it matters, fighting for what's right, even when it's hard. That's what you guys do every day, and it's what I want to do, too. He raised his beer. To the Hells Angels, to Arthur, to second chances and new lives and doing the right thing even when it's scary as hell.
