I caught my wife with another man. Our prenup left her with nothing, and I took her beloved car, too.
I have lurked in subs like this for a long time, and I always thought I would be too embarrassed to share my experience if it ever happened to me.

Well, it finally happened to me, and it turns out I do not have any reservations about letting people know what happened.
What do I have to be embarrassed about? I did not do anything wrong. Maybe I was a little heavy-handed with how I handled things, but I do not regret it one bit.
I, a 29-year-old man, have been married to my wife, Dora, a 28-year-old woman, for three years now. We shared a few classes together in college and quickly became friends. After about a year, we started dating, and a few years later, we got married.
We built up a routine that worked for us. We both studied engineering in college, but I was the only one working. I made enough money for both of us, and she wanted to focus on being a homemaker and taking care of the children.
The children had not happened yet because the timing never seemed right. We were both eager to become parents, but something was always coming up. There was a period when I lost my job and we had to live frugally for a bit. Then I got a new, better-paying job, but we had to move.
It was one thing after another.
The whole time, Dora was not working. That was why I got the prenup.
I recommend every man do the same thing before getting married. I do not care if you only have a mattress and a laptop to your name. If you are a man who works hard, you will be in a better position one day, and then you will have much more to lose.
I did not have much when we set up the prenup, but the idea was to make things fair for both of us. We came to an agreement that if she was not going to work, then we would need to have a prenup.
That way, I would not be left funding a comfortable lifestyle for a woman who was basically just as qualified to work as I was.
She agreed. She was a reasonable woman, at least she was when we got married.
The point of it was not just to protect me from losing what I had. The major part of the document laid out how much financial support I would provide to her if we split up after having kids. It was a fair amount of money that was supposed to make sure my children were well taken care of.
The prenup told a different story if we got divorced without kids. We would split assets in an agreed-upon manner, and that was it. I would not be stuck paying her a chunk of my paycheck for years.
For the past couple of years, I completely forgot I had a prenup. I am pretty sure we both did.
I am only bringing it up now because it is more relevant than ever.
I will be needing that prenup pretty soon, because my wife cheated on me.
I hate that I had to find out about the affair firsthand. I wish I could have discovered it by accident, or that she could have confessed it to me or something.
Nope.
Instead, I had to come home early from work and walk in on some guy’s pale backside while he was on top of my wife.
I was not even completely sure what I was seeing at first. I just saw a guy on my wife and thought she was in danger.
I feel so stupid looking back at it now, but I cannot blame myself either. It was a lot to process on the spot.
I ran right over to her, pulled him off of her, and threw him halfway across the room.
I only realized what was really going on when Dora screamed, “What are you doing?” and covered herself up. I stood there for a second, looking and feeling like an idiot.
I took a few seconds to really assess the situation. The other guy was pulling his clothes on, but he did not leave the room. Dora looked scared, but the fear was directed at me.
It finally dawned on me what was going on. It should have been obvious the moment I walked into the room, but I trusted her so much that my mind had not been able to jump to the idea of her cheating on me.
When the other guy had his pants on, he tried to sneak out of the room. That shook me back into action. I snapped at him to stay, and he stopped moving immediately.
Then I told him to stand beside Dora. I wanted to talk to both of them, and I was not comfortable with him hovering somewhere behind my back.
To my surprise, he listened immediately. Probably because I had just launched him across the room like he weighed nothing. To be completely fair, he was a skinny guy, and I was amped up on adrenaline.
It felt good to know he was scared of me, though.
I asked Dora to explain what was going on. She said I should let Luke go because this was between the two of us.
I said he got into our business when he got into my wife, so he was part of this now. Then I told her to start talking.
She sighed. Her hands were shaking, and Luke was staring at the floor.
She tried to calm me down instead. She said I was scaring her and she would not be able to tell me anything while I was like that.
She really was afraid. Her voice was shaking.
She said we could talk after Luke left. She was worried I would attack him again, and she did not want me to go to jail.
I just said I threw Luke because of a misunderstanding, and for all I knew, I had just seen a stranger in my bed. I promised her no one was going to get beaten up.
Luke did not look like he believed me.
That seemed to calm Dora enough to start talking.
She spent a minute or two apologizing and telling me that she never meant for me to find out like this. You know, the usual cheater stuff about how she really loved me and did not want to hurt me.
I told her that she had a weird way of showing her love, and she actually had the nerve to say I was not making this easy for her.
She went on to say that she was not feeling fulfilled in our relationship. She was not happy being just a housewife, and she was looking for more out of her life.
I reminded her that she was the one who had suggested staying home to take care of the home and kids. She was making it sound like something I had forced her into.
She just said it was what she wanted at the time, and now she had changed her mind. She said it like I was the ridiculous one for not considering that.
I agreed that it was fine to change her mind, but I reminded her that there was something married couples did when one of them had something major on their mind.
They communicated.
I asked why she thought cheating was a better idea than talking to me.
