Reed's recorded voice answered. "You've already been given instructions."
Static interrupted the next few seconds.
Then Maya spoke again. "You have the information required to verify me."
The recording stopped.
Pike explained that the remaining section had not been fully recovered.
The panel chair opened Reed's report. "You wrote that Judge Williams repeatedly refused to provide sufficient identification."
Reed answered, "Her badge did not work."
"That is not the same statement."
"She never told me she was a judge."
Maya looked at him but said nothing.
The panel attorney continued. "You also wrote that she attempted to push past you."
Reed nodded. "She moved toward the door after I ordered her to sit."
The door records appeared on the screen.
The panel attorney said, "The secured door did not open during the period described in your report."
"She was moving toward it."
"Did she touch you?"
"No."
"Did she attempt to take your baton?"
"No."
"Did she strike the door?"
"No."
"Then explain the phrase attempted to push past security personnel."
Reed paused. "She was refusing to comply."
"That is not what the sentence says."
Reed looked toward his representative.
The chair said, "Answer the question."
Reed lowered his eyes. "I described it too strongly."
"Why?"
"I was trying to document the situation as I understood it."
The panel chair opened another folder. "You also added language after her identity had been confirmed."
Reed looked up. "What language?"
"Subject initially failed to identify herself as judicial personnel."
"That was true. She gave me her name. She didn't give me her title."
The chair looked toward Maya. "Judge Williams, please take the witness seat."
Maya moved to the table. After she was sworn in, the panel attorney began.
"You had the ability to tell Officer Reed immediately that you were a judge."
"Yes."
"You chose not to."
"I gave him my name, my credential, and the department that could verify me."
