Willa returned to the podium.
“One more thing.”
The room quieted.
“I am not telling you this because I want a villain.”
Garrett looked up.
“Villains are easy.”
She closed the iPad.
“Systems are harder.”
She spoke about the founders who had laughed.
Those who watched.
The staff member who carried out an instruction without asking why.
The security officers who trusted a complaint more quickly than a credential.
The people in the messaging group who turned a stranger into entertainment.
“The insult mattered,” Willa said.
“But what stayed with me was how many people needed the insult to become dangerous before they considered speaking.”
She looked around.
“If your culture depends on one powerful person behaving well, you do not have a culture.”
A few people wrote that sentence down.
“You have luck.”
Willa finished without naming Garrett.
She did not mention Prism Dynamics.
Did not announce an investment decision.
Did not demand punishment.
She thanked the room.
Then walked offstage.
Backstage, Rachel’s radio was already in her hand.
“Remove Prism Dynamics from the pitch schedule.”
The event operations manager hesitated.
“They’re scheduled at two.”
“I know.”
“Based on?”
“Conduct policy. Harassment. Misrepresentation to staff. Targeted complaint. Social-media harassment. Document everything.”
“Understood.”
Rachel lowered the radio.
“I should have caught it earlier.”
Willa shook her head.
