“Good.”
She looked at him.
He continued.
“Means you understand what almost happened.”
Tommy sat on an overturned crate, staring at the floor.
Wyatt turned to him.
“You brought danger to everybody in this building because you were afraid to admit you made a mistake.”
Tommy swallowed.
“Yes.”
“You’re going to tell Grizzly everything.”
“Yes.”
“And whatever happens after that, you do not lie.”
Tommy nodded.
Samantha looked toward the duffel.
“What happens to that?”
Wyatt’s eyes moved to it.
“It gets handled through people who know how to handle it.”
She accepted the answer.
That night mattered.
Not because Samantha had saved the club.
She had not.
But because she had done something different from what Reuben trained her to do.
She had seen danger.
Spoken clearly.
Called the right person.
And refused to protect someone else’s bad decision at the cost of her own safety.
When Grizzly returned the next morning, Tommy confessed.
There were consequences.
Club consequences Samantha never asked about.
But nobody blamed her for escalating the situation.
Quite the opposite.
Grizzly found her cleaning glasses before opening.
“You did right.”
