“I located my wife.”
“No.”
Samantha’s voice sharpened.
“You tracked me.”
Reuben smiled faintly.
“You left with marital property.”
“My clothes?”
“Documents.”
“Copies of my medical records?”
His face changed.
Very slightly.
Samantha saw it.
So did Grizzly.
“What documents are you worried about?” she asked.
“Nothing.”
“You said documents.”
“I meant financial records.”
“What financial records?”
Reuben’s composure thinned.
“Samantha.”
“No.”
She stepped out from behind the bar.
Wyatt moved slightly as if to stop her.
Grizzly lifted one hand.
Let her.
Samantha stood several feet from Reuben.
For the first time since he entered, she looked directly at him without the bar between them.
“You found me because you are afraid of what I took.”
Reuben’s expression hardened.
“I’m afraid you’ll embarrass yourself.”
“No.”
She shook her head.
“You’re afraid I’ll embarrass you.”
